Routines and Flexibility
Routines are not meant to confine us, but rather define us. With a well-thought-out homemaking routine, we can look ahead with confident expectation. We can go about our day with a joyful anticipation of knowing what we are going to do next.
Even though we may have the best-laid plans, the Lord is ultimately in control. And we do not always know what is going to happen during our homemaking day. Children become ill, unexpected visitors drop by, or you have a family emergency occur. Plan for flexibility, be patient and trust the Lord with your time.
My Weekly Chores
My household runs relatively smooth because of my routine. I perform my weekly chores in conjunction the daily, monthly, or seasonal chores. I have found that with having set routines and schedules for household chores, that typically don’t get overwhelmed with the amount of work to do because it spread out over time.
Regarding my weekly chores, I try to always stick to the schedule and deviate from those days. If something comes up that prevents me from doing a weekly chore, depending on what it is-I may move it to the following week.
Large Family Weekly Schedule
No two families are exactly the same, so my routine may not work for your family. However, with my Weekly Printable Chore Chart you can create, download, and print your own customizable weekly chart.
May I encourage you to take a look at my Seasonal Chores, and take advantage of the offer to create your own seasonal chore chart to include as part of your homemaking routine.
