Proverbs 31:15 “She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls.”
Five Reasons Why You Should Wake Up Early
Time with God
“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
Every day is a gift from God.
Each day that we open our eyes and get out of bed is another day that we have been given.
Choose to begin your day with praise and petition.
If you are not a morning person, this may be a complete shock to your system. Waking up almost seems like torture to some, but once you begin to spend time alone in the Word-you may find that it becomes the sweetest and most precious part of your day.
Time by Yourself
As a mom of many children, alone time is a rarity, which makes my morning time all by myself one of the most favorite parts of my day.
If you wake up early before your children, you may be able to have some quiet time. In the summer, I like to go outside and drink a cup of tea on our front porch.
And in the winter, I love to sit and watch the snow fall while drinking some chai tea.
Sitting alone in silence, I have learned to embrace the nothingness that accompanies it. And ladies, if your house is anything like mine-there is not much silence!
Time to Plan
The Proverbs 31 woman is able to delegate her days work.
In the early morning hours, I like that I can think clearly and write down the list of things I need to get done for the daily.
Take advantage of this early morning while you are refreshed from sleep and no demands from your slumbering family to get mentally prepared for the day ahead.
Time to Work
Early morning hours are a perfect time to also get some tasks done.
I like to start the laundry, make lunches, and begin cleaning. This saves me time later on in the day, that I can spend with my family.
Time to Make Breakfast
As a homemaker, there is nothing I like more than waking up my family to a hot breakfast all ready to be eaten. Being a stay at home mom, I have been given the gift of early morning hours to be able to serve my family.
My children love waking up to the smell of cooked bacon and chocolate chip pancakes before they head off to school in the morning.
Ladies, your time is a gift and how you use it is entirely up to you.
But in our ministry of homemaking, there are some important elements that can go neglected if we do not manage our time well.
