Daily Quiet Time is Vital

It is vital that homemakers spend time in the Word daily. Our ministry depends upon it.  There is too much at stake, too much stands to be lost if we do not spend time with God.

We gain wisdom by reading the Bible.

Our outlook is renewed.

We tend to become more grateful, content, and joyful.

We are able to love and forgive easier.

But….

Often time with the Lord gets pushed aside for other things.

We lead busy lives and our calendars are chocked full of obligations that take up our time.

So with the busyness of life, children, husbands, school, and managing the home, how can you ensure that you get regular quality time with the Lord?

We must make time for it. We must make it a priority.

Four Ways to have Successful Daily Quiet Time

First of all, you must decide to make a commitment to spend time in the Word daily.

Secondly, make time with God a priority

How overloaded is your schedule?  Do you have a time slot that is open that would be perfect and without distractions?

Don’t give God your second best, give Him your best time.

For many people, this is first thing in the morning when everything is fresh and new, especially before the household is awake.

Put God on your calendar for the same time daily.  Soon this will become a daily habit that is non-negotiable.

Third, arm yourself with the proper tools

What are the right tools?

  • Bible
  • Highlighters
  • Pens
  • Post It Notes
  • Blanket or prayer shawl (I prefer a prayer shawl or blanket to cover up with)
  • Journal  (Keep these tools in a small basket near your Bible so they are handy)

Finally, you must pray about it.

In conclusion…..

Sisters, you hold the key to your home in your heart.

Guard it carefully.

Be overprotective of your home.

Don’t take your time for granted.

Time is a precious gift not to be wasted.

Spend it wisely. It is an investment you will never regret.

Spend it foolishly and you will regret it the rest of your life.
