An Honest Review of the NIV, Beautiful Word Coloring Bible for Girls

As a member of the Bible Gateway Blogger Grid (BG²), I received this Bible free in exchange for my honest review. #BibleGatewayPartner

When did you first receive a Bible?

As an 8-year-old little girl, I received my father’s very well worn, leather KJV Bible. The Bible served him well in the Christian schools he had attended, as he attended church, and in Bible college as a young adult.

My second Bible was a Precious Moment Bible that I received when I was 11 years old. It was easier to read than the KJV and many nights I would spend sitting up in my bed reading by flashlight before I fell asleep.

Searching for a Bible

As a parent of six children, it is important for me that my children know God’s written Word. Because each of my six children are different, thus each version and type of the Bibles they read are different.

One of my young daughters had recently outgrown her Bible, which prompted me to start searching for a new one for her. Right about the time that I was searching for a suitable Bible for my daughter, I was offered the chance to review the NIV, Beautiful Word Coloring Bible, and NIV, Beautiful Word Journal (Mark) as part of the Bible Gateway Blogger Grid.

What I Liked

This Bible is great for young girls (even girls older than 12 could use this with no problem). This brightly colored Bible is beautiful to look at, easy to use, and engaging for young readers.

One of my favorite features of the Bible is the space that it gives young readers to take notes in the margins and the over 600+ verses for coloring (they even provide the colored pencils).

*Other coloring utensils may be used, but due to the thinness of the Bible pages, check for the colors bleeding through in a discrete section of the Bible.

Other Notable Features:

This Bible offers several enjoyable features that will draw in the young girl and encourage her to help stay in the Word. This Bible is the one that my daughter will be using for attending church as she sits and listens to the sermons.

The font is easy to read and the verses are written in beautiful writing that automatically draws your eyes in to focus.

Even though this Bible is specifically for girls 8-12 years old, there would be nothing wrong with a teenager using this Bible. However, there are options available for teen girls as well, with the NIV, Beautiful Word Coloring Bible for teen girls.

Below are some pictures as you can see from the inside of the NIV, Beautiful Word Coloring Bible, for girls ages 8-10.

What my daughter liked:

*The box that the Bible came in is like a sturdy case, which holds both the Bible and coloring utensils.

*She loves the color.

*She likes the fact that the Bible was created specifically for girls.

What I don’t like

It is really difficult to find much wrong with this Bible. But a few things to point out that could possibly be a problem for some younger readers.

*The pages were thin, which may pose a potential problem for younger readers who are not careful with what they choose to journal or color with. These colors may be bleed through.

Overall, it is a wonderful Bible for the young girl in your life. Full of color, room to take notes, and keep her focused during her study time with God.

Additional Bonus Feature:

What I like:

*The colorful, illustrated art and uplifting imagery encourage a deeper and more inspired quiet time.

The Beautiful Word Bible Journal also comes in other books of the Bible as well and would be perfect for small group study or personal study.
