All Lives Matter

This is my son David.

He was born at 34 weeks gestation.  He lived for 2.5 hours.  We knew his time on earth was limited prior to his birth.

At 20 weeks gestation, David was diagnosed with BRA (Bilateral renal agenesis). Bilateral Renal Agenesis is the absence of both kidneys at birth. It is a genetic disorder characterized by a failure of the kidneys to develop in a fetus. This absence of kidneys causes a deficiency of amniotic fluid (Oligohydramnios) in a pregnant woman.

Due to the lack of kidneys, bladder, and amniotic fluid; David’s lungs were extremely underdeveloped as was his heart.  The lack of development in his lungs would eventually lead to his demise because he would be unable to breathe.

Why We Did Not Choose an Abortion

Throughout the pregnancy I was asked several times why wouldn’t I “go abort baby” or “why would we want to bring a baby into the world who would die anyways.”

The answer I had was not my own opinion, which was an obvious yes.  However, my opinion was based on what God says in Scripture.

God is very clear on the subject of murder.

Abortion is murder, there is no other word to describe it. Because it begins with a live child and ends with the death of a child.

“Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. Genesis 9:6

“You shall not murder. Exodus 20:13

Life is precious

“Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” Isaiah 49:16

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

An unborn baby woven together by our heavenly Creator is precious in His sight.

Recent Talk of Late-Term Abortions

With all this talk of late-term abortions and the #womansrighttochoose, I cannot help but think of my precious David who only lived a mere few hours.

What about the unborn baby’s right to choose?

If George Floyd’s life matter and Black Lives Matter, why then doesn’t an unborn baby’s life matter when it comes to abortion?

You can read more about David’s story below.

All Lives Matter

All lives matter to God, regardless of color, race, or gender.

And David’s life mattered, too, and his life forever impacted ours.

He was loved and prayed before he was born.

After he was born, he was tenderly bathed and dressed by his siblings.

We took over 1,000 pictures of him during his short little life.

For those friends and family that met him, he was doted on and passed around so tenderly under the watchful and protective eyes of his siblings.

When he passed into the arms of Jesus, he was in the loving arms of my husband.

We knew his time on earth ending because of slowed breathing and lowered heart rate.

Knowing that we only had a few hours with David at best, we tried to pour a lifetime of love onto our sweet boy.

So when I see groups promoting abortion at any stage because of the mother’s wishes, I become upset because I know that the Lord has a plan for each and every child regardless of how long they are alive.

Please keep standing up for the truth ladies.

Be a voice for the unspoken.

And pray for the unborn.

May justice prevail in accordance with the sovereign will of our Lord.

Blessings,

Stephanie, Training Keepers of the Home
