ENCOURAGEMENT FOR MOTHERS

Here at Training Keepers of the Home, we do our best to offer encouragement for your walk as a mother.  Whether you are single or married, being a mother is not often an easy task. We all have come to those points where we struggle and feel overwhelmed.

The truth is that we are all imperfect mothers.  We will never be the Pinterest perfect mom or the mom that ‘has it all together‘.  Yet we have a hope through all of the tears, frustration, and pain that motherhood often brings; a hope that comes in the name our saving grace: God!

He sent His son to die for our less-than-perfect selves.  His mercies are new each morning.  We are covered by the endless grace that only He can offer us.  That means that no mistake or sin that we make as a parent is hopeless.  When we are at our weakest as mothers, is when we need Him the most.

“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Cor. 12:9-10 NKJV)

HOPE FOR MOTHERS

Ladies, even though we fail.  Even though we make mistakes as mothers.  We have a promise that the Lord is never going to leave us nor forksake us.

I am not trying to talk all doom and gloom about motherhood, because it is much, much more than that. Our precious children are a gift from the Lord, a heritage, a reward (Psalm 127:3) and they are ever so precious to the Lord and us.

Taking care of our children is an immeasurable and irreplaceable responsibility that as believers we are not left alone in or to fend for ourselves.  As mother’s, we can cry out to the One who created all things and is the only One who can redeem them.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE OVERWHELMED?

Most of us cannot just drop what we’re doing and head to the mall for a mani/pedi in order to have time for ourselves. We work ourselves to the bone. We are mothers 24/7.  We never get a day off from being a mom, so what can we do?

A mom that is at the end of her rope and desperate, is always able to call out or cry to the Lord.  Stop what you’re doing and cry out to Him. He hears your prayers and knows the burden on your heart.

Below are some verses and prayers that you can pray, if your own words fail you.

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28 NLT)

PRAY: “Lord, I am tired. I am overwhelmed. I am feel as if I am failing as a mom.  Give me strength Lord.”

“Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (Matt. 11:29–30 NLT)

PRAY: Lord, you’ve promised that if I ask, not only will you take my burdens upon you, but you will teach me how to find rest for my soul. My soul craves that right now— yet everywhere I turn I find something else to worry about. Lord, show me your ways. Fill my soul with your gentleness that I need today.

Below I have gathered some of my favorite articles that I have written to offer you encouragement for your role as a mother.  Please know that I am praying for each and every one of you.

Blessings,

Stephanie, Training Keepers of the Home
